Wayne Dillard’s Resurrection Prayer
I was thinking about Christ this morning, and His resurrection. How He ascended and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. And how He is now represented on earth through His Body, the collective believers He is gathering together from every tongue and tribe and nation. We are His voice, and hands and feet, and together, as we each move in obedience to the Holy Spirit we represent Him in this dark and fallen world.
What a privilege, what a blessing, to be in this world, but not of it. To be a reflection of hope to those in despair. To be the ones who call out into this cave of darkness, “over here, over here, we found the way out!” We have been rescued by the death and resurrection of Christ, and we now have the privilege of bring that ‘Good News’ to others.
Prayer:
I bless you in the name of Christ, whose blood covers the doorpost of your life, whose death set you free from darkness, and whose resurrection empowers you to glorify His name through bold acts of faith.
I bless you in the name of the One, who loves you with an everlasting love, who knows all your thoughts, catches ever tear, and hears every whisper. The One who makes a way when there is no way, and brings streams in the midst of your desert.
I bless you with the peace of Christ that passes understanding, and carries you up and over the obstacles of life. The knowing that there is more than you can see, and that in Christ you live and breathe and move and have your being.
I bless you with the resurrection power of Jesus, that calls you to your place, unites you with fellow believers, equips you for exploits and sends you forth with boldness and purpose.
May Jesus, the son God, the Christ, the Lamb that was slain for the sins of the world, the Prince of Peace, the King of Kings, the One true God, who reigns and rules forever be represented through your life, and glorified by your faith, love and obedience.
In the mighty and worth name of Jesus, Amen.

IMPORTANT note to YOU, about your prayers and Wayne’s impact through Prayercentral
“It’s no coincidence that the war in Iraq began to turn around just about the time the Baghdad Prayer Patrol was formed. As I traveled the country, I began to hear about it from Christians that I met, and even to see posters people had made and put on the walls inside the CBN newsroom reminding people to pray.
Prayer isn’t the least we can do, it’s the most we can do. Wayne Dillard understood that. And by mobilizing hundreds of thousands of believers to petition God for change in the middle east, he helped change the course of history. I firmly believe that.
To honor Wayne’s legacy, let’s show the world the power of prayer once again as we pray for Afghanistan. In all my travels, I’ve rarely seen a place so spiritually desolate - most Afghans have never even met a Christian, and without meaningful political and social change, they never will. Pray for brave Christians to be called to go into that dark land. Pray for God to miraculously open doors for the gospel there, and pray that the presence of hundreds of thousands of western military and civilian contractors would have spiritual “side effects” that accomplish God’s purposes.
Thank you, Wayne Dillard, for showing us that even if we never get a chance to leave our homes, we can still impact people around the world.”

“As for many other people, Wayne’s life is a life we can commemorate as a life lived well. I shared with Wayne’s mom, what an honor and privilege it has been for me to know Wayne Dillard. I know that there are nations whose legacies will be altered in eternity because of the sacrifices and efforts that Wayne Dillard made.
This nation…this nation…has benefited from not only from his life and service in the air-force but has benefited from his life and the prayers laid down for the many years of his service in ministry in this nation. The nation of India…Oh… the harvest fields that are ripe, that are going be reaped because of the prayers that are laying in the soil of that nation!
The outcome of the war in Iraq! A whole nation transformed because of prayer… in Afghanistan a nation impacted because of the Afghan prayer patrol!!
Jesus said if any man wants to be my disciple there is a cost.
First he said, any one who wants to be my disciple, you have to love me more than you love anyone else: there was a RELATIONAL cost to being his disciple.
The second thing he said was if anyone loves me …let him pick up his cross and DAILY follow me: there was a PERSONAL cost to following Jesus.
The last thing he said the same way, if anyone does not give up everything, he cannot be my disciple: There is a LIFE cost.
I would imagine his mother, sisters - Barb, Sandy, brother Jimmy, can share with us some of the things Wayne as a child, said that he wanted to do/be when he grew up, what he wanted to be.
Then he met Jesus. Jesus said HEY Wayne, “Come and run with me, lay it all down Wayne, cos its worth it Wayne, if you ever catch the vision its worth it,!” Wayne laid his life down, he became a disciple of Jesus.
Dr. Umidi read the proclamation that Wayne wrote last Saturday before he passed. Wayne wrote that in faith. Because there is no guarantee that Jesus is standing on the other side…hello, people… there is no guarantee! But today Wayne has no more faith, because he SEES his faith fully realized in the face of Jesus!
Where does that leave us on the fields here, with the legacy of a life lived well? Wayne has joined that great cloud of witnesses, Paul talks about in Hebrews 12:1-2
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”.
For you Wayne have come to Mt Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, to the city of the living God. Wayne, you have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn whose names are written in heaven, you have come to God, Wayne, the judge of all men, to the spirit of righteous men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant.
Wayne we salute you for the sacrifices and efforts that were expended on behalf of Jesus and your family. We bless you Wayne, we were honored and privileged to have known you and walked with you in whatever capacity it was, and Jesus we thank you for sparing Wayne with your love and affection that we cannot even comprehend, for wrapping him up and taking him on this journey of his life. And now Jesus, you see your son face to face and you behold him in his glory, and the honor you bestow upon him; and Lord we are provoked, PROVOKED, TO CAST ASIDE everything that so easily entangles our feet, things that we don’t need Lord. To fix our eyes on you Jesus, and to run with all the effort and energy we have with whatever is left of our life Lord, so that one day when we stand in front of you Lord we will not be ashamed, at your appearing. We Love you Jesus, and we thank you that you took Wayne into your presence, and we long for the day we will be reunited with our brother and see him again in heaven. Thank you Jesus for the surety and confidence that where you are we will be also. Amen.

Previous Updates:
Dear Prayer Partners,
This is Kathleen Dillard, Wayne’s wife writing to you today with some unexpected news. Last night, April 3rd at 7 PM Wayne had, what we believe to be, heart failure.
The day before Easter, he went into the arms of THE Resurrection Himself. It was a sunny day in Colorado and Wayne was busy and happy doing the things he loved.
As for myself and our two college age daughters, Julia and Jessica, we are in shock. Our hearts are both heavy and hopeful. Your prayers are a great help to us right now.
As for Prayercentral, we feel Wayne was ‘in the middle’ of so many God appointed projects, that I will take the baton forward where Wayne left off last night.
Which means, you will hear more from us at Prayercentral.
If you would like to give a gift in Wayne’s honor, you can do that through the “Giving to Prayercentral” link at the bottom of the page or at the following address:

Editor's Report with Kathleen
I was very shocked to read that Wayne had passed away. I was saddened to read this. Didn’t even realize Wayne was sick. Better though to go like this than to suffer as so many people do. Have to admit I haven’t been reading his articles like I used to. Kept up with Wayne and Kathleen’s prayer needs. Kept them both, and their family, on my prayer list I keep offline.
I send my heartfelt wishes to his beautiful family. Wishes for them to go on with their lives as Wayne would want them to.
Wishes to do this as Jesus would want them to!
Sent with prayers, good thoughts, love and hugs;
Claudette :}
Dear Kathleen, Julia and Jessica, I was saddened and shocked to hear of Wayne’s sudden death. I don’t know any of you only through the Baghdad and Afghan Patols. But I have been impressed with how God had used Wayne in those ministries and am thankful that you are going to continue with them. Only eternity will reveal the lives that were touched. I have been praying for all of you and will continue. May the God of all comfort continue to comfort you.
Sincerely, Virginia
Dear Kathleen, Julia and Jessica,
I started around a year ago (I think) praying for Bagdad. Then in October, I started praying for my pastor. Shortly there after I started praying for the Prodigals, the Jobless, my City, and the Lost, and for Afganistan. I am so thankful for this work of love, and I will continue to pray for God to bless you with all you need to continue in the ways He leads you. Blessings. Jill, Ohio
Dear friends,
I often prayed with Wayne for Baghdad and its people
and their peace and security. I thank your family
for your concern for this part of the world and our service people.
May God continue to bring you His peace and comfort knowing that Wayne is in His everlasting arms.
Thank you for all your service in Christ’s name.

Dear Kathleen, Julia and Jessica - you are in my prayers at this time of loss. May the Lord give you beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning. He will bear you up daily and give you the courage to carry on. The Prayer Patrols mean so much to so many. I’m sure the prayer lives of a great many people have been changed, as mine has, by participation in the daily Prayer Patrols. Know that you are loved and appreciated and that the thoughts and prayers of all of us are with you. God bless you and comfort you. In His love, Roberta in California
Thank you for sharing with us these photo’s and the memorial service. I pray the Lord will take you higher in him and meet all the needs of your family. Wayne’s gone on in Glory what a homecoming! God Bless

Thanks for sharing about Wayne’s memorial service.
I have really been blessed to participate in the prayer partnerships.
We had a celebration service for my father when he passed away on Jan. 11.
My dad was a lifelong prayer warrior. We miss him so much but we are so comforted by the many promises of God.
“May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you all of his blessings and great peace of heart and mind.” I Cor. 1:3

Dear Kathleen,
I had the joy of meeting you when I was working at Souled Out Ministry founded by your good friends Ed and Cathi Basler. You always impressed my by the pure prophetic prayer gifting you have from the Lord. I will hold you and your daughters up in prayer as you deeply, deeply miss your wonderful gifted husband. May the Lord comfort you and continue to bring you into the fullness of His Purposes for you, your daughters and Prayer Central.

Thanks for sharing the words of Pastor Richardson. Wayne’s life was indeed a life lived to the full. What a wonderful example.
May the Lord continue to uphold you all.
Kathleen,Julia and Jessica,
As part of the Baghdad Prayer Patrol, I have been so blessed to be a part of this, honored to be able to pray daily for this wartorn city/nation, and so thankful to Almighty God that He connected me with it.
What an incredible testimony that Wayne has left, and I’m grateful to you for carrying on with this mission. I bless you with strength, courage, wisdom, health and provision, in Jesus’ Name.
Thanks for sharing the Memorial with us.
Kathleen - Thank you so much for sharing the memorial service with us. There could be no more fitting place than at the foot of the cross at Cape Henry. Wayne, through his humble obedience to God, was able to organize the saints of the Almighty God from around the world to join together in prayer to change the course of history and advance the kingdom of God. How the enemy must have hated him, but now he is in the arms of God, safe and secure, and receiving a great reward. As I have prayed for you, Kathleen, I am reminded of Elijah and Elisha….God took his servant Elihjah out of this world by sending a chariot of fire to take him into heaven, but Elijah left his mantle behind, and God bestowed Elisha with a double portion of His spirit. May He do the same for you. I am certain that there are days when you feel overwhelmed, but truly this is a calling from God, and He would not have called you to complete the task that Wayne started if He knew you were not able to do it. As you take up his mantle, may God bestow you with a double portion of his spirit, and may He raise you up as a mighty warrior in His kingdom army. May you be filled with His strength, wisdom, comfort and peace as you run the race set before you. I continue to pray for the girls, Jessica and Julia. May they be a great comfort to you as Ruth was to Naomi in the loss of her husband, and may they stand by your side as you continue to advance the kingdom of God on this earth. May God richly bless you in all that you do. Thank you for your bravery and sacrifice for the kingdom. You are an inspiration to so many people who have never met you.
My deepest sympathies for you & your girls. Your great loss is now Heaven’s gain.
May our gracious King comfort you & provide faith & courage to trust in Him & lean into His loving care for you.
In His love & mine,
Cris
Thank you to God for the gift of Wayne’s life and for the gift of helping us along in our prayer journey. When I lost my job I felt God pushing me to pray but not for me but I felt unequipped, but leave it to God he led me to this site. My journey began praying for the soldiers and the war torn cities and people. I thank you God for giving Wayne the Vision and I thank him for his obedience to follow you every step he took.
Thank you Kathleen for being a great encourager to us all in the prayers you share and for being the great partner and mother. May you continually find comfort knowing you are prayed for and that we are all serving a Mighty God who sees and hears all. Your sister in Christ, Paulina Toronto Canada

No like to lose a love one.I found life is short but knowing we will see them on the other side helps.I think the greatest lost is having a loveless life so hold on the love you had for you will always have it.
Thank you so much for this memorial with us and for your dedication to continue the work god gave Wayne and you to start. Many blessings.
