Get in the Game

When Jesus taught his disciples to pray, “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done!” (Luke 11:2) It was not a request, but a proclamation. It’s supposed to be a declaration of agreement, an enforcement of God’s desire into the current situation.

Are we just passive spectators, watching the history of the world go by? I don’t think so! We have been invited by the God of the universe to be active participators with Him in watching over the affairs of men. The coach has called you up off the bench, and He’s telling you to get in the game.

You have God’s Word, you have the Holy Spirit, and you have a mandate to see His will be done. It’s time to be praying and proclaiming, and taking seriously His promises. Playing is a lot more fun than watching. Take some time today and declare God’s will over something.
