DEAR Kathleen, these words are, in essence, what the Lord spoke to me on the first day of January 2010. This is a faithful reminder. For 0ver 32 years, I have been a believer waiting for my husband to come to a saving knowledge of Lord Jesus. Father has given me many reassurances that my husband will come to Him.
The most recent one was on December 27, 2007. I had been calling out to the Lord the day before on my husband’s behalf, because his spiritual blindness was preventing him from seeing the beauty in life. The morning of the 27th, I awoke from a dream in which I saw my husband standing behind a thick dungeon door. There were no walls or bars around him, just the door in front of his face. Father God’s hand was moving toward the lock on the door with a golden key.
Because we were moving into the year of 2008, which many said would be a year of new beginnings, I expected that my husband would be born again that year. Even up until the last second before midnight of Dec. 31, 2008, I was expecting the Lord to move. But He didn’t. Then, in 2009, I thought that it was surely the year of my husband’s salvation. When it didn’t happen, I was very aggravated with the Lord! On the morning of January 1, 2010, the Lord spoke to me the scripture: “Forgetting those things which are behind…etc.” Forget the previous 32 years of waiting and hoping. He gave me a little jingle, “Leave behind 2009; begin again in 2010.” Your Word is a confirmation and an encouragement to keep pressing toward the mark for the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Thank you. I love and pray for you.

The Washington Post had a front page picture of a young Army Captain speaking to elders in Zhari, Afghanistan… I have been praying with you and when I saw this picture my heart was stirred to pray for the elders and our troops in a new way. You can see it on line. You do have to register to see and it is free. oops i guess this should be on another page - so I will do both…

So today I am praying this for our troops:
The Lord will keep you safe from secret traps, and deadly diseases. He will spread His wings over you and keep you secure. His faithfulness is like a shield or a city wall.(Ps 91:3-4) CEV

For all the intercessors I have been praying a song by Steve Swanson called “Stir the Waters” I am singing this line: “Arise, Arise, Son of Righteousness Arise, So Arise, Arise with Healing in Your Wings” I see Him arising in His intercessors with Healing in His Wings to cover every aspect of God’s plan for Afghanistan.

For the Elders… Awaken their hearts to righteousness… surround them Lord with Grace and Peace to know Who to trust and then know who to trust. In Jesus Name, Amen.

You really ‘hit the nail on the head’ for where I’m at in my walk with the Lord! How I praise Him for this word from you, Kathleen. The accuser of the brethren has been having a ‘hey day’ with me. Would appreciate your prayers that I will be able to “…Let the past sleep on the bosom of Christ.”
    Bless you!!

Ahh, Kathleen. What a super thought process from the Miracle Worker Himself - the concept of ‘Let go and let God’. In so many areas this is true but it is an ABSOLUTE for dropping like a hot potato the past happenings which just cannot be undone.

This is yet another area like Forgiveness that must be done by stepping out in faith in the Holy Trinity. It is indeed not natural - it is supernatural as you have noted - to go into the throneroom of the Most High God and just leave those old burdens there and NOT PICK THEM UP AND TAKE THEM BACK AGAIN. This is a purely human reaction but aone that society embraces in all forms of the media which as we know is the purvue of Satan - the prince of the power of the air.

Your words from the Almighty are truly hard for a widow to speak because there is ALWAYS the ‘guilt’ phase of grieving. I know this from my mother and her six widowed friends who gathered every Friday night to play cards, kibbutz and, lament - over everything…hard lessons to unlearn.

You also emphasized to LEARN from the past and positive human therapies combined with incredible ‘mothering’ from the Holy Trinity are tantamount. Thank you, again, for your constant, instant, spectacular service to us all!

May God continue to bless you in all that you do in His name.

I am so blessed by your words. Pray that I can truly let go of the past and move on with the new things God has for me. I could use your prayers this Wednesday. I’m getting some healing prayers. Thank you and God bless.

Thank YOU for joining me here at Word of the Week. It’s always great to hear your testimony of how God is speaking to you. Thank you for taking that extra bit of time to share. Here’s a great quote from Leonard Ravenhill, may your heart receive strength from it, “Three things faith does: it reckons on God; it risks with God (and) it rests in God.”
God bless YOU as you seek HIM!
