Question of the Week -Integrity

Will you sacrifice money for integrity or integrity for money?

cat-duckThere is something really wrong about a Christian without integrity. It just doesn’t fit and everybody knows it.

This week you will have opportunities to choose between money and your integrity. What will you do?

“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” -Mark 8:36-37

Heavenly Father, May I reflect the goodness of Your Son,Jesus Christ,so He receives the glory due His Name. Integrity comes from Your goodness and purity. Lord, keep reminding me to give You the praise by saying “God is good”. Thank You for your lovingkindness and mercies today.

I want to mention something about integrity here, now that you brought it up. I was recently accused of slandering someone. I don’t think I actually did, or maybe I’m just so dense that I don’t realize I did it. But the person in question finally confronted me and said, “I was waiting because I hoped you would have the integrity to come to me and apologize.” That word integrity again. Hmmm. We are all so frail and so human and in my case, a little bit dense. Maybe that’s why the Bible commands us to go to the person we have aught against. I’m still pondering the whole thing and ruminating on it with an open mind and an open Bible. If I need a Nathan to come and tell me what I’ve done to grieve the Lord or one of His beloved children, I welcome his coming because to walk in purity before God we need to know when we have hurt His heart. I won’t run from the confrontation. But I didn’t know I had caused harm. Is, then, my integrity in question?
