What’s Keeping You Afloat?

iStock_000005500083SmallHi! Hugs to you from Delhi, India!
The piercing cold of winter is upon us even here…

As I look through the bible, there are two things I see connected and highlighted over and over:

Praise and thanksgiving.

So I started thinking, “Why are these two things so important?”

Praise and thanksgiving are “anti-gravity” activities – ways to stay buoyant in the midst of the bobbing tides of life. When you’re caught up in practicing gratitude, you stay in an uplifted positive mood, which makes even the rough spots floatable.

Remember, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 14:17)

You see, your spiritual health doesn’t just help you to survive, but to thrive, gain speed, and sail over the rough spots into new territories. Your attitude of praise and thanksgiving in such trials is what marks you as a citizen of His kingdom of righteousness and peace and joy.

I want to invite you to join the Word of the Week in case you haven’t already. It’s a weekly devotional founded in prayer and listening, also designed to keep you buoyant and light.

On the run,
