Keep Your Cool!

Grill in fames

Warm hugs to you from Delhi, India. Somehow I skidded into the hottest temperatures in 65 years. Each day feels fired up by a dragon’s mouth at 122 degrees!

Sometimes it’s hard to stay patient and to ‘keep your cool’ under such a fierce sun.

Another time when it’s hard to keep your cool is when you get disappointed. What do you do when you’re disappointed? Do you “stew & chew?” Or do you gossip and spew? Or shove it to the side because you don’t know what to do?

Disappointment arrives charged with energy, ranging from mild all the way up to very spicy. And it demands a response.

This morning, I was reading in Hosea, “Let us acknowledge The Lord; let us press on to acknowledge Him. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”

I believe a disappointment is an appointment with God.

It’s an opportunity to acknowledge Him. He invites us to pour out our hearts to Him. He instructs us to cast all our concerns on Him. He reminds us that He cares for us.

Let your disappointment press you into an appointment with Him. Amen?

In His love and mine,

Kathleen Dillard
