A Very Special Heritage

Hi!

I hope you are having a great week and that you are surviving the “back to school” flurry of activity! Let’s all remember to take a big breath and remember His faithfulness, amen?

Do you recognize this curly-haired gentleman?

Perhaps you remember his piano pounding and his soul-piercing lyrics that he would sing and shout to the “Jesus movement” crowds. Perhaps you are even the direct “fruit” of his ministry’s ongoing legacy of souls won to Christ. Perhaps you haven’t yet heard of him and are in for a real treat.

Keith Green left a truly unforgettable and eternal legacy.

My late husband, Wayne, and I had the privilege of running with Keith and Melody in a special way when we served on leadership with them at Last Days Ministries starting in the late seventies. We even considered ourselves a direct “fruit” of his ministry as he was responsible for match-making us and later officiating our marriage ceremony!

If you’re interested in more of our story, Keith’s story, or perhaps have a Keith-related story of your own to share, then you should see our Remembering Keith Green site.

Today, I have a very precious part of Keith and Melody’s legacy to share with you. Their daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Bobby Taylor, have just released an album.

1146499_279290522208917_1641940914_n“Heritage” is a mix of original songs and beautifully recorded versions of “Rushing Wind” and “You Are the One.” Bobby and Rachel are talented songwriters and anointed worship leaders. Their heart is to make these timeless songs even more accessible to the modern church. You will really be blessed by the vulnerability in “Why This Way,” Rachel’s song about her father.

Rushing wind blow through this temple. Blowing out the dust within.
Come and breathe your breath upon me. I’ve been born again.
