A Labor of Love

“Why grow we weary when asked to watch with our Lord? Up, sluggish heart, Jesus calls thee! Rise and go forth to meet the Heavenly Friend in the place where He manifests Himself.” -EM Bounds

Hi! How has your last “official” week of summer been? With Labor Day just around the corner, I am reminded that our labor is not only one of flesh, blood, and sweat as we till the soil of life, but also a labor of love as we get to partner with Jesus in prayer for what is on His heart.

So often our flesh weakens even at the sound of the word labor because it is costly, but our spirits are ever willing as we remember the greater picture: That Jesus would be satisfied in seeing the labor of His soul! (Isaiah 53:11)

With this in mind, let’s not be slack in prayer, but let’s continue to set apart times to intercede for our nation and the upcoming US Elections. Intercessors for America provides some great prayer resources that can help to engage our hearts and minds as we lift up our beloved country and ask God for His perfect will.

“I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved.”

Father, right now we speak words of life, faith, and blessing over those in authority. We pray, intercede, and thank you for those in high positions now and in the future. We ask for a release of your perfect will, your abiding love, and your empowering and saving grace to be working in their lives today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

 have prayed.

With You in Spirit,

Your Team at Prayercentral
