Father, your word says we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. We stand against these, clothed in the full armor of God, and we believe that these evil forces will be stopped. They have already been defeated at Calvary by the blood of Jesus, and we enforce this victory against the powers of evil in Afghanistan. We claim this nation for Jesus, and we declare that the demonic forces of Islam are rendered powerless over the people and our troops. Father, What a wonderful plan You have for us to be reconciled to You! But how can the people living in Afghanistan know about Your plan unless someone tells them? Release the Christians living there to tell the good news. Give them the words to say. Let their testimonies be strong and encouraging. Send Your Holy Spirit to prompt their words and actions. And may the name of Jesus be high and lifted up for all to see. Pierce the darkness, LORD, with Your truth, Your way, and Your life! Amen

Dear Father in Heaven, You Who reach out in great mercy to all, with the power and purpose to redeem and make new, please hear our prayers today on behalf of the nation of Afghanistan. Heavenly Father, please break in pieces and destroy forever the rod of the oppressor (Isa. 9:4) that intends to rule over and to control every aspect of the lives of Afghanistan’s citizens. Please rebuke the evil in Heavenly places that has been resisting Your purposes and holding hearts and minds captive to doing his will in that nation, and please set the people free. May You raise up a Spiritual champion in Afghanistan who is willing to take on and to destroy the powers of darkness that oppress and cause terror. May You raise up lowly servants within that nation who trust in Your power and Your Holy Word, and go forward, knowing that what You have said, You will be utterly faithful to perform. Thank You, Father in Heaven. I look forward to a day when we will hear of a liberated Afghanistan in which people are free to hear Your Good News, and to respond to it. Yes, Lord, indeed a spiritual breakthrough is needed in Afghanistan. There are so many there who are in the darkness. Some of those are plotting evil, some are just existing and others are on the side of the peacekeepers. But any who do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior are in darkness. I pray You will meet one of each of those people today where they are at and provide a way for them to be introduced to Jesus in such a way that they see Who He is and the goodness of the message He brings and how they can finally be saved from the lostness they have felt all their lives. Please Lord, bring these people out of the darkness this day. I pray You will chase away the spirits of darkness that want to have dominion over them. A breakthrough of the kind that only You can make in the spiritual dimension is desperately needed for these who have been blind to Jesus. Thank You for sending Jesus into the darkness of this world to save all of us who are sinners from birth. You have redeemed us for a better and eternal life. Father, our hearts are heavy today mourning over the deaths and injuries of our military men and women at Ft. Hood. Father, open the eyes of those leaders who are loathe to see and/or acknowledge the truth. Help them to overcome their political correctness and their fear of upsetting their chiefs. Certainly a soldier wearing his national Muslim garb should have been warning enough except for the fear of speaking out and the ignoring of those who did speak out. Yes, Lord, deny the dark powers their place on honor in Afghanistan. Uproot and scatter these dark forces that oppose Your Divine Purposes for Afghanistan. May the cause of Christ march onward and upward and crush every opposition in it’s path. Our GOd is an awesome God; He reigns in Heaven above and He will NOT be outdone by His own creation. Darkness is dispelled by one SINGLE candle. Lord, send your candles to Afghanistan shining brightly ever leading to a glorious Day of victory. We look for miracles and we always see them.
