“Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations.” (Rev 15:3). Father we praise you for your great and marvelous deeds. Please give the Afghans good leaders who will do what is best for the people and the country. Help them to find solutions for ending the violence in this war weary land. Give them discernment to know who they can trust and when they can trust them. Disrupt the plans and activities of those who are violently attacking government installations and other facilities and causing harm to people. Protect the people from their schemes. May those who are violent be tamed by Your power and the working of Your Spirit. Open the hearts and minds of the Afghan people so they may see Your great love for them. Give them faith to believe You and to follow You. In Jesus name. Amen

Maker and Creator of all Things, the Psalmist wrote: “How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” Thank You for your kindness, mercy, grace, and love. You have created and sustain all life. May Your will be done on earth and in Afghanistan. Gather Afghan believers beneath the shadow of Your wings, reveal Yourself to them in a greater way, and encourage them as they serve You. May Your Spirit work in the hearts of other Afghans to show them that Jesus’ death on the cross is the only way to salvation. Set free those being held captive by sin and bring them into the light of Your presence. In Jesus name. Amen

Gracious Heavenly Father, Your Word states: “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.” (Psalm 24:1,2). You love the people of Afghanistan. We ask that Your plans and purposes for Afghanistan be established. Confuse and confound those who are resisting Your plans and prosper the efforts of those who are working in accordance with Your plans. Guide and direct Afghan people and coalition personnel who are working for the good of the people of Afghanistan and who want peace and stability. Protect them and the innocent Afghan people from harm. Raise up leaders for Afghanistan who are upright and seek what is best for the people. Work in the hearts and minds of Afghans to remove barriers to belief in You. Please bring many into Your kingdom. In Jesus name. Amen

Almighty Father, through the prophet Isaiah you said “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.” (Is 45:22) And Paul wrote the following to Timothy “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” (I Timothy 4:1-4). Give wisdom and compassion to the leaders of Afghanistan. Accomplish Your purposes through these leaders. May Your people in Afghanistan live peaceful and quiet lives. Help the Afghan people to see that Christianity (believing in Jesus for salvation) is not a Western religion but that Jesus came to redeem people from all the nations. He can save all who believe in Him. In Jesus name. Amen

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.” (Psalm 24:1,2). Gracious Heavenly Father, You love the people of Afghanistan. May Your purposes for Afghanistan be fulfilled. Raise up people who will bring about what You desire for the Afghan people and protect the people whom You raise up from harm. Expose and undermine the lies that Your enemies have spread to keep people from receiving Your salvation. Remove barriers that are preventing people from trusting Jesus for their salvation. Open the hearts and minds of Afghans so they can receive Jesus as their savior. In Jesus name. Amen

“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” (Jeremiah 32:17). Almighty God, just as Jeremiah acknowledged in his prayer, we also acknowledge that nothing is too hard for you. We ask you to preserve the lives of the innocent and those who want peace in Afghanistan. Give this country leaders who are upright and just and who will do what is best for the people. Open the hearts and minds of the Afghan people so they can see Your great mercy and grace. Help them to put their trust in You for their deliverance from their enemies and for their salvation. Bring peace to the land and peace to their hearts. In Jesus name. Amen.

“Oh the Depth of the Riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God…to Him be the glory forever!” (Romans 11:33, 36). Lord God Almighty, we praise You. Recent news reports told of a temporary peace between the Taliban and the Afghan government that was disrupted by two bombings in Jalalabad that killed 55 people. Your reign extends over the chaos of this world, including these events. Nothing surprises You. May you protect the innocent people of Afghanistan. May Your will be done and Your kingdom come to this land. Deliver the people from evil. Bring them a lasting and just peace. Open their eyes and their hearts to Your great love for them. Bring Afghans into your kingdom. In Jesus name. Amen.
