Thank YOU for lifting up your powerful voice in prayer at 911. Today let’s cry out to the Lord for Sudan. If you’ve caught the news in recent weeks, you will know it’s a nation in great distress. On January 14th, BBC news said, “More than 350,000 people have been displaced by the fighting between the South Sudanese government and rebel forces.”
Jesus told you and I that there would be wars and rumors of wars in the last days along with a number of other intense crisis points (see Matthew 24.)
Let’s storm His throne in prayer~

“Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come;
‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.”
-John Newton, “Amazing Grace”
Lord Jesus, we look to Your grace and peace for Southern Sudan. You have brought these people through many impossible situations over the years, and the current situation is no different.
In the name of Jesus, we cast down every stronghold of violence, revenge, murder and greed. We proclaim that Your blood breaks the curse of the blood spilled in Sudan. Your blood covers a multitude of sins, Your blood transforms and cleanses the sinner, Your blood brings liberty and eternal life!
Raise up leaders with a heart for reconciliation and righteousness. Fill them with Your hope and vision for Sudan. May this great hope carry them over and beyond the strife to begin living for something greater than just survival and revenge.
We bless our brothers and sisters who have suffered there. We ask that the seeds of the Gospel will continue to grow in their lives to produce a harvest that will transform the heart of Sudan. May they embrace all that Your cross and resurrection has bought for them: an eternal inheritance in the Kingdom of Light, that does not fade away.
We say to Sudan, “He who began a good work in you shall be faithful to complete it.” (Philippians 1:6)
Father God, may Your grace lead them safely home. Amen
Sword of the Word – Verse for You to Use:
Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
