Three months ago, Philippine city Tacloban was hit by a super-typhoon (some of the strongest winds ever recorded) and has had very little signs of recovery. The storm destroyed millions of homes and businesses, depriving the citizens of basic needs and their livelihoods.
Join us in prayer for the Kingdom of Heaven to touch this place, and its precious people…
“Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high,
who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap…”
Lord of Heaven and Earth, we come to you on behalf of Tacloban. In Your abounding mercy and power, we ask that you would look upon the land and the people of this devastated city. Though their needs seem to be beyond human capability to fix, we know that Your power and ability is not limited.
We ask that you would release supernatural solutions through those You have appointed to oversee the rebuilding of Tacloban. May needed supplies and workers get through the debris to begin restoring homes, schools, hospitals and businesses. We pray for a release of resources, human and material, to get to those who truly need it. Protect those areas that may be subject to looting through angelic intervention.
We ask that you would lift up those whose lost loved ones and their livelihoods with Your loving arms. Bless Your church there to be a beacon of hope in the midst of devastation, declaring that Your love and light is stronger and deeper than anything this earth can throw at them.
Jesus, You who spoke this universe into being, we ask You would do it again for Tacloban – may Your word go forth to bless and bring life out of the ruins. “You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.” (Isaiah 25:4)
Thank You for Your loving care over everything You have made. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” -Matthew 17:20
“May all kings bow down to him and all nations serve him. For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.” -Psalm 72:11-14
