“There is no priority higher than the prevention of terrorism.”
One glance at the landscape of the Middle East will tell you that it’s time to pray!
With so many social and geopolitical shifts happening at once, coupled with the fresh boldness of terrorist groups, prayer is mission critical.
The reality is this battle is “not against flesh and blood,” alone. There is a spiritual factor that can only be impacted by God’s people in prayer.
I would like to recommend a recent report by CNN to you. They did a great job giving an overview of the Middle East which is easy to read and helps you put your finger on the pulse of things.
As you pray, here are some other aspects of terrorism to be aware of.
Other Facts on Terrorism:
- The aim of terrorism is to create fear and through that to get the victims to comply to the terrorist agenda/demands.
- When you see terrorism in action you will always see: kill, steal, destroy. (John 10:10)
- Anger is the flame that triggers terrorist agendas and activities. (James1:20)
- The poppy farming in Afghanistan funds 30% of the Al Qaeda budget.
- Across the world low income families are systematically targeted for the recruiting of new ‘soldiers’ to terrorist groups. ISIS is now recruiting 20,000 youth world wide to come and join their cause.
Remember to uphold our military who have been dispatched from many nations to fight the war against terrorism. And also please pray for all law enforcement agencies. Pray for protection and insight to uncover terrorist plans and sleeper cells.
Praying with You,
Prayer for Protection, Stability, and Peace in the Middle East
He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
love and faithfulness go before you.
Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you,
who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.
Lord of all the earth, we see demolished cities, displaced people, torture, violence, and injustice throughout the Middle East. It seems impossible for any man or woman to make sense of this or have any power to change it. So we lift our eyes to heaven, to You, who sits on the throne of righteousness and justice. We bless Your name and we look to you to do what is humanly impossible.
We cry out to you on behalf of Syria, Iraq, Israel, Yemen, Iran, and all the surrounding region. Lord, make wars to cease! Break the power of satan, who is the source of all destruction. We ask You to take down the ancient principalities of violence and idolatry, so that the people of these nations can be free to run to You. We ask for divine encounters with Jesus in the midst of rubble, in the midst of firefights, in the refugee camps, and at the deathbeds. As promised, let love and faithfulness precede Your coming. May you still the heart of every person bent on violence and every victim of violence whose hearts have been crushed by terror. Come Lord Jesus! Be exalted above these nations! May we see your goodness and justice prevail!
We remember what Isaiah wrote about You and we stand on who You are:
“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth.” (Isaiah 42:1-4)
For this reason, You have come in the flesh Lord Jesus: for justice, for mercy, for deliverance… In THE NAME (Hashem Adonai) we pray, amen.
Sword of the Word, Verses for You to Use:
“He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.” -Isaiah 33:6
“By justice a king gives a country stability, but those who are greedy for bribes tear it down.” -Proverbs 29:4
“Bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure – you, the righteous God who probes minds and hearts.” -Psalm 7:9
“May all kings bow down to him and all nations serve him. For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.” -Psalm 72:11-14
