Deadly Plane Crash in Rural Kansas

It’s times like these that we are so glad to have YOU as a part of our 911 Prayer Focus. Prayer is just as much about faithfulness as it is timeliness.

In case you haven’t heard, a small plane carrying five young ORU graduates to an Acquire the Fire conference crashed in rural Kansas on Friday May 11th, taking the lives of four passengers, Luke Sheets, Garrett Coble, Stephen Luth, and Austin Anderson, and leaving Hannah Luce in serious but stable condition. Hannah is the daughter of Ron & Katie Luce, founders of Teen Mania Ministries, and she still needs LOTS of prayer covering as she undergoes treatment for serious burn injuries, and as she recovers from the trauma of being the only survivor in such a tragic accident.

“We are so saddened by what has happened and ask for all those who have been touched by [Teen Mania] in some way to rally around the families of all involved in the crash, especially the four young men who passed away,” says Hannah’s father, Ron Luce. “They all had a heart for this generation, and were passionately pursuing God’s call on their lives.”

Also, some updates on Hannah’s condition are being posted on Ron Luce’s public Facebook page:

“Lord, we approach your throne today with the confidence that you are a loving Father, a good Shepherd, and a strength to those who are in need. We ask that right now you would increase Your Presence in the lives of all affected by this plane crash. Reveal yourself as a refuge and a shield (Psalm 18), and as an overflowing source of hope and strength amidst pain and confusion.

We pray for Hannah’s complete healing and restoration. We declare LIFE into her body and rebuke trauma and pain, in the name of Jesus. Draw near to her now and in the days to come. We believe that you, “Heal the brokenhearted and bandage their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)

Father, show yourself as a Comforter to the families who mourn the loss of their loved ones today. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” (Psalm 116:15) We thank you today for the lives of these young ones who lived to bring You glory, and we ask that you would be even more glorified in the celebration and remembrance of them.”

 have prayed.

Please keep the Luce’s as well as the families of Luke Sheets, Garrett Coble, Stephen Luth, and Austin Anderson in your prayers throughout the following days and weeks. Thank you for your prayers, which serve as a blessing to them and to our heavenly Father.

In Him,
Alyssa and the Prayercentral Team
