Praying for ISIS (the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria)
and Salvation for Its Members
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” -Ephesians 6:12
In light of the horrific bombing in Peshawar, Pakistan that killed 130 school children and ten staff let’s PRAY that violence ceases to be the way forward for change.
King of the Nations, we come to you on behalf of the thousands who have been victims of violence and on behalf of ISIS. As so many stand on the edge of eternity, we plea for the souls of all men, women and children and ask that You will draw them to Jesus. Even while we were dead in our sin, you made us alive. We bring this promise to your remembrance now and ask that you do it again for the traumatized, the grieving and the perpetrators who see no way out of their sins. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, who transcends the miles, we release blessing and life over Iraq and Syria.
By the blood of the Lamb, we bind every demonic power that has been released through bloodshed and idolatry. We ask for your ministers of spirit and fire to bring deliverance and containment of evil (Hebrews 1:7)
Jesus, where sin has abounded, we know Your grace abounds even more (Romans 5:20.) Through Your grace, may repentance produce righteousness and transformation within the ranks of ISIS.
For everyone who has suffered because of ISIS, we ask that Your ever-enduring love and power will bring restoration of lives, homes, and families. We pray for the women and girls who have been taken hostage and abused to be released and delivered safely back to their families. Jesus, we speak Your life and healing over these precious ones. May they find healing through the suffering You have endured for them on the cross.
We bless our brothers and sisters in Christ who have been persecuted for bearing Your Name; for, You have declared that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to them. Jesus, may they see the Kingdom of Heaven come and transform desolation into something eternally beautiful.
We ask all this, in Your Name, Jesus.
Sword of the Word, Verses for You to Use:
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought
to make it obedient to Christ.”
-2 Corinthians 10:3-5
“Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”
