Day-1 Abiding

Give yourself some extra time to wait upon the Lord. Quiet yourself, and allow Him the opportunity to speak to you. He has many things He wants to say to you, but you must be quiet and still to hear them. Consider these verses, settle your heart down and let the Lord speak to you. Remember, “When it comes to prayer, it’s not what you say to God, but what God says to you that really matters.”

Father, I thank You that You want to be close to me. I thank You for Your promise, that as I draw near to You, You will draw near to me. I accept the cleansing I need by the blood of Jesus, so that I can come into Your Holy presence with confidence. I rest from my striving, and I wait on you.

(Wait here and allow the Lord to speak to you. Listen for any words of encouragement or direction and write them down)

You are the One Who restores my soul. You are my resting place. You are my fortress. You are my True Vine. I rest in You. “Behold, as the eyes of servants [look] to the hand of their master, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress; So our eyes [look] to the LORD our God…” -Psalms 123:2

Isaiah 40:31 “Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up [with] wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.”

Psalms 23: 2,3 “He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”

Isaiah 30:15 “For thus the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said, ‘In repentance and rest you shall be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength.'”

Psalms 9:10 “And those who know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; For Thou, O LORD, hast not forsaken those who seek Thee.”

Psalms 27:4 “One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to meditate in His temple.”
